SUNDERLAND — A presentation of the audio documentary “Room to Grow: The Inner Lives of United States Farm Workers in an Age of Turmoil” will be paired with a potluck and community conversation on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Sunderland Public Library.
Attendees are invited to bring their favorite potluck dish and to expect ice breakers in small groups at supper tables in the library’s Community Room, followed by a chance to hear local testimonials mixed with music during the airing of “Room to Grow.” After the documentary, attendees can join in facilitated small-group conversations.
The whole evening will be translated between English and Spanish. There will be childcare for all ages in the library’s Children’s Room, which will be open for playing with puppets, toy kitchen items, books and games.
“Room to Grow: The Inner Lives of United States Farm Workers in an Age of Turmoil” was produced by Nicholas Boyer and Carrie Kline with Michael Kline. This and other Talking Across the Lines productions air oral testimonials and music that give voice to local history, culture, politics and Indigenous life.
