Robert “Bobby C” Campbell hopes to feed 3,100 people across Franklin County with his Thanksgiving meals fundraiser, having fallen short of last year’s goal of 2,700.
The local DJ’s annual effort is entering its 11th year and he is once again accepting donations to provide families with meal kits that include stuffing mix, potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and apple pies. Each family is also given a $20 gift certificate toward a turkey from the Greenfield Stop & Shop.
“It’s going to be a big year,” Campbell said. “I think people are struggling.”
As it was last year, the cost to sponsor a family is $80. People can sponsor as many families as they would like. Donations must be made by Oct. 30 so the food can be ordered in time for the Nov. 20 distribution day.
Meals will be distributed to local families in need, as well as to The Heartwing Center and the Winslow Wentworth House, both in Turners Falls. Checks to support Thanksgiving community meals will also be presented to The Salvation Army, Stone Soup Cafe and Living Waters Assembly of God in Greenfield.
Checks should be made payable to: Bobby Campbell, 303 Fairway Ave., Turners Falls, MA 01376. Donors are asked to write “Needy Families T-day Fundraiser 2026” in the memo line. Donations can also be made via Venmo (@bobbyCcampbell). The final four digits of his cellphone number are 4222.
Campbell said he marvels at how local residents, business owners and civic organizations come through to support community members in need every year.
“They do great,” he said.
