A trio of players smacked three hits apiece for St. Stanislaus Society, which held off Kustom Auto Body, 14-13, in the opening-round of the Montague Co-Rec Adult Softball League double-elimination tournament Thursday night at Unity Park.
Brody Markol was 3-for-4 with a home run for St. Stan’s, while Malcolm Smith was 3-for-4 and Marshall Sisson added three hits as well.
Kustom’s Matt Luippold had a huge night in defeat, going 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs.
• In other action, Luis Melendez had two hits, including a three-run home run, and Between the Uprights beat Fairview Landscape, 13-1.
Scott Powers also slugged a three-run bomb in the win, and Tricia Currier had a pair of hits.
Tim Anderson doubled for Fairview.
Lebert Championship
Connor Piecuch fired a round of 74, giving him the overall title at the Al ‘Tiger’ Lebert Junior Club Championship Thursday at the Country Club of Greenfield.
Dan Cavanaugh won the 13-15 year old Division with a round of 75, while Nate Blanchard was the 12-and-under winner with an 84.
Ryan Blanchard took home the title in the Girls’ Division with a 107.
Ashfield Ladies
Joyce Charland’s score of 19 put her atop the Ashfield Community Golf Club Ladies League Thursday, as the league played a ‘Throw Out All 5’s’ tourney.
Bev Williams was the winner of the number of putts played in the nine-hole game with 15.
CFC Men’s League
Erik Barnes won the point quota at plus-6 during the Crumpin-Fox Club Men’s League Thursday night in Bernardston.
Chris Stoddard was second at plus-4, and Mark Waskiewicz was third at plus-1.
CFC Women’s League
Corky Sysun took home first-place with a score of plus-2 at the Women’s League held at Crumpin Fox Club in Bernardston on Wednesday.
Rachel Grabelsky was right behind in second-place at plus-1.
Jill Waldron was closest to the pin on No. 3 at 3 feet, 5 inches, while Marty Stinson was closest on No. 9 at 36 feet.
Open 6-6-6 at CFC
Al Griffin and Dave Cronin easily handled the field, winning the Open Two-Player 6-6-6 with a score of minus 3 at Crumpin Fox Club on Wednesday.
Joe Cocco and Joe Imelio nabbed the runner-up spot with a plus-3 round.
Gene Kugler and Chet Kugler tied with the team of Andrew McNeice and Patrick Hodgdon for the low net at minus-10.
Mike Maguire was closest to the pin at 17-4.
Adams sinks Thomas ace
Not only did Dorothy Adams win closest-to-the pin honors on Wednesday, she did so with authority.
Adams sank a hole-in-one on the par 3, 7th hole at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club in Turners Falls during Ladies League action. She aced the 71-yard hole with witnesses Nancy Browning, Barb Howey and Deb Puchalski all in attendance.

Adams’ ace propelled her to the top weekly point quota in the Thomas Memorial Ladies League Wednesday.
Jeanette Lawrence was next at plus-3, followed by Mary Ellen Fydenkevez at plus-2.
Adams took low-gross honors with a 44, while Sue Overstreet was closest to the pin on No. 9 with her second shot measuring in at 10 feet, 9 inches.
K of C League
Ray Godin and Drew Powell tied for the top point quotas of the week at plus-6 to pace the field at the Knights of Columbus Golf League held at Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club on Wednesday.
Steve Brown, Chet Czernich and Winston LaBelle were all plus-5, while Ron Lenois Jr., John Plotkin and Chris Sacco were next at plus-4.
Northfield Road Race
Bob Bezio captured the top spot at Thursday’s Northfield Road Race series, crossing the line of the 3.3-mile course in 20 minutes, 4 seconds.
Amy O’Sullivan was the first female finisher across with a time of 22:18.
The top 10 finishers were Bezio (20:04), Ed Kaczenski (20:28), Isaac Bingham (21:34), Amy O’Sullivan (22:18), Dave Kaczenski (22:20), Derek Postma (23:33), Mark Balan (24:49), Garrett Postma (25:03), Marcy Cabanas (25:20), and Sarah O’Sullivan (25:30).
There are two remaining races this summer for the series on Aug. 24 and Aug. 31.
