Franklin County deserves a sheriff who understands the responsibilities of the office, the needs of the community, and the day-to-day realities of the county’s correctional system. Lori M. Streeter brings that experience. With more than 35 years of service in the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and House of Corrections, including 11 years as superintendent, she has spent decades working within the organization and serving the people of this county. Appointed interim sheriff in 2025, she brings both a deep knowledge of the office and hands-on experience in its leadership.
The sheriff’s work reaches well beyond the walls of the correctional facility. It includes protecting public safety, overseeing staff, caring for and supervising people in custody, and working with community organizations and other public safety agencies. Those responsibilities require steady judgment, accountability, and an understanding of how decisions affect residents, employees, families, and the people in custody. Streeter’s long career has given her firsthand familiarity with these challenges and the people who do this work every day.
Experience does not mean there is never room to improve. It means having the background to understand what is working, recognize where attention is needed, and make informed decisions. As sheriff, Streeter can build on her knowledge of the office while continuing to focus on the safety and well-being of Franklin County. Her years of service offer voters a reason to trust that she understands the responsibilities she is asking to lead.
This election is an opportunity to choose experienced leadership and continuity for the sheriff’s office. Lori Streeter has devoted much of her career to public service in Franklin County, and she is prepared to continue that commitment as sheriff. That’s why you should vote for Lori M. Streeter for Franklin County sheriff.
