Northfield, MA – Laurie Hall, 66, of Northfield passed away September 11, 2026 at home. She was born September 28, 1959, the daughter of Lawrence and Mildred (Bush) Whitney in Greenfield, Mass. She was educated in Northfield schools graduating from PVRS class of 1977. She married Bruce Hall in 1989 on the Quinituckett on the Connecticut River. She worked at Food City in Turners Falls and later in life she was employed at the Hadley Transfer Station where she made many friends among her customers there. Laurie also loved dogs.
She is survived by her Fiance’, Richard Purnell, a son Jonathan Hall, two sisters, Sharon Marando and Sandy Waskeiwicz and her husband Michael, two brothers, Matthew Bazzani and his wife Debra and Daniel Whitney and his wife Michele, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also pre-deceased by her husband Bruce in 2005 and a brother Ronald “Jack” Whitney.
Services will be private. Donations in her memory can be made to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA 01105.
