TURNERS FALLS — In the coming months the town of Montague will have a new website, after a contract was approved during Monday night’s Selectboard meeting.
Mik Muller, owner of Montague WebWorks, presented the contract for the new website during the meeting.
The contract costs the town $5,600, but it is replacing the town’s current contract with website host company, Virtual Town Hall.
Montague WebWorks has already completed several transitions from Virtual Town Hall to its software in the area. When the project is completed, Montague.Net will look similar to Greenfield’s website.
Muller said they will start to move over to the new site in August when town employees return from vacations. He didn’t have a timeline for the transition or when the new site would be live, and said it depends on each town.
Town officials at the meeting said they put out a request for proposals looking for a new website host company, because the contact was up for renewal. WebWorks was one of two submitting bids, the other was from the town’s current system, Virtual Town Hall.
