GREENFIELD — Two Connecticut women were arraigned in Greenfield District Court on Friday on narcotics charges after being arrested by Bernardston Police during a Thursday evening traffic stop in which authorities located an estimated $29,000 worth of drugs.
Amie Corriveau, 40, and Kristen Masciangioli, 39, both of Bristol, Connecticut, were charged with one count of trafficking in cocaine (100 grams or more/less than 200 grams), two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, one count of possession with intent to distribute a Class C drug and conspiracy to violate drug law. Masciangioli faces one additional charge of operating an unregistered vehicle.
Bail was set at $5,000, which was posted on behalf of Corriveau, according to court documents. Masciangioli, meanwhile, remains in custody at the Franklin County Jail and House of Correction in Greenfield.
Bernardston Police Officer Jordan Zukowski wrote in his police report that he was on patrol Thursday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. when he noticed a Toyota RAV4 traveling southbound on South Street with a registration that had expired five years ago.
“I proceeded to try and catch up with the vehicle as it crossed from Bernardston into Greenfield. As I began to catch up, the vehicle abruptly turned into the parking lot of Thomas & Thomas,” a fly rods manufacturer on Barton Road in Greenfield, Zukowski wrote. “I entered the lot behind the RAV4 and watched the operator exit the car quickly, open the driver’s side rear door and handle something inside.”
Masciangioli allegedly told Zukowski that she had been looking for her phone charger and she was aware of the expired registration, but that she “still owed money before she could register it.” Although Masciangioli reportedly told Zukowski that there was nothing in the vehicle other than marijuana and a container of alcohol, Zukowski wrote that the passenger, Corriveau, kept moving around the vehicle, raising concern.
“I watched as Amie kept moving around, making furtive movements that raised concerns regarding my safety,” Zukowski wrote. “These movements included reaching toward the glove box area, the floor and behind her.”

The women were asked to step out of the vehicle, and a bag of psilocybin mushrooms and a bag of white powder, which appeared to be cocaine, were located. Further search of the vehicle revealed 193 grams of cocaine, 344 tabs of LSD, multiple bags of purple crystal Molly totaling 66 grams and 351 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. According to court documents, the value of the drugs found totaled an estimated $29,000.
Also in the vehicle was camping equipment and supplies. The women told Zukowski that they were headed to the StrangeCreek music festival in Greenfield. Zukowski noted that the festival is “well-known locally for rampant drug use.”
According to the police report, a female officer from Greenfield Police was dispatched to search the women and found nothing of note. However, later on at 9:30 p.m. at the House of Correction, “a small amount of possible cocaine was located inside [Corriveau].”
Both women are set to appear back in court on Friday, May 29.
