Community Preservation Committee holding series of information sessions
GREENFIELD — The Community Preservation Committee will hold a series of three information sessions over the next few weeks to educate the public on Community Preservation Act (CPA) funding and the CPA grant process in Greenfield.
Attendees can learn what types of projects are eligible and how decisions are made on what projects will receive funding. All sessions will take place in the first-floor conference room at the Greenfield Public Library, located at 412 Main St.
The schedule for the information sessions is as follows:
- Community Housing: Wednesday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Historic Resources: Monday, May 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Open Space and Recreation: Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Millers Meadow planting days scheduled
GREENFIELD — Residents are invited to participate in the next phase of the Millers Meadow restoration project through three upcoming tree planting days.
On Saturdays, May 16, May 30, and June 6, the city is aiming to plant 450 native trees at the Colrain Street meadow, reaching the restoration goal of having 1,100 trees planted at the location. Rain dates have been set for the Sunday following each scheduled planting date.
No prior experience in planting is necessary to participate; the city will provide on-site training, tools and refreshments. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and a water bottle.

Just Roots to host Spring Festival & Seedling Sale
GREENFIELD — Just Roots at 28 Glenbrook Drive will host its annual Spring Festival & Seedling Sale on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vegetables, flowers, culinary and medicinal herbs, woodland and native pollinator plants, seeds, vermicast and more from Just Roots, Checkerspot Farm, Foxtrot Farm, Sawmill Herb Farm, the People’s Medicine Project, Sage Green Botanicals, the Hillfolk Seed Collective and the Compost Cooperative will be available. There will also be children’s activities and artisan goods from Blue Crow Botanicals, Nuthatch & Bluet Studios, Avery & Maude Pottery and Golden Hour Thrift Shop.
The rain date is Sunday, May 17.
