The Post 81 American Legion baseball teams will host registration and tryouts on May 2 and May 9 at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Field in Greenfield.

Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to tryout, and those on a previous Post 81 roster must still tryout in order to be eligible. Players are to bring their glove, cleats and original birth certificate. Post 81 features a senior and junior team. Rosters consist of players 19 and under and 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2026.

Smitty’s Pub 7, Maniatty Reality 4 — Lew Graves hit a two-run single to boost Smitty’s Pub to a victory. Elias Tripp pitched five innings with 10 strikeouts. Hunter Wilkins and Wyatt Wilkins each had a hit in the win. For Maniatty Reality, Toby Campbell struck out 10 on the mound. Campbell, Brody Suhl (two RBI) and Brock Puchalski each had hits.

AAA

Liberty Tax 13, Lundgren Honda 4 — Blake White had three hits and got the victory on the mound in the win for Liberty Tax. George Bodzinski had two hits for Lundgren. Theo Shulte pitched effectively, only giving up two hits.

AA

Ginger Cat Sealcoating 9, Ruggeri Real Estate 1 — Xavier McCarthy had a single and a triple in the win for Ginger Cat Sealcoating. Sully Boutelle added two singles. Jalen Howel launched a home run and pitched a scoreless inning. For Ruggeri Real Estate, Silas Cousineau had two singles, and Leo O’Neil pitched an effective inning.

Golf

The Thomas Memorial Women’s Golf League opened its season with a scramble. Karren Sacco, Deb Cote and Mary Ellen Fydenkevez were the victory with a score of 37. Christine Graves won the closest to the pin contest, with a shot of eight feet, eight inches.

Preps

Deerfield Academy scores from Wednesday are as follows. The Deerfield Academy girls lacrosse team downed Williston, 14-5, in Easthampton. The Big Green are on a four-game winning streak. They play Westminster at home on at 2:30 on Saturday.

The Deerfield Academy boys lacrosse team won its third straight after a 10-8 road over Loomis. Deerfield is set to host Andover at 2:30 on Saturday.

The Deerfield Academy baseball team loss at home to Choate, 5-4. The girls water polo squad also lost to Choate, 13-7. Deerfield Academy (3-3) softball took down Northfield Mount Hermon, 13-2. The golf squad split a pair of matches at Wyantenuck County Club. The Big Green lost to Hotchkiss and beat Berkshire.

The Deerfield Academy (5-1) tennis team swept Northfield Mount Hermon, 6-0, to win its fifth consecutive match.
