GREENFIELD — Franklin County Agricultural Society President Michael Nelson said this weekend’s Home & Craft Show at the Franklin County Fairgrounds will kick off the venue’s event season following its winter “hibernation.”
The Home & Craft Show, which returned last year following a prolonged hiatus, will be held Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring a wide variety of local craft vendors and area home improvement experts. Attendees will have the chance to ask home improvement specialists about projects they are working on in their own homes.
“[The Agricultural Society] looks at it as an opportunity to both fix your home and beautify your home,” Nelson said, “all in one quick trip to the Fairgrounds.”
About 60 vendors will be in attendance on Saturday, in addition to a food truck and live music, according to Nelson. He mentioned that after last year’s Home & Craft Show took place on a day that saw four inches of snow, he’s excited to provide “a beautiful spring event” this time around.
The Agricultural Society is also using the event as an opportunity to unveil its first Fairgrounds mascot. This mascot will not just be at the grounds, but will also pop up at community events throughout Franklin County during the spring, summer and fall.
Admission to the Home & Craft Show is free, though there is a suggested donation of $10 per vehicle, which Nelson said will go toward preservation of the Fairgrounds.
“We’ve spent all winter long preparing the fairgrounds and planning for events at the fairgrounds,” Nelson said. “This is our first opportunity of the season. … It’s always really fun to have the first event.”
