10:39 a.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant at Oak Courts. Nore Anthony Cruz, 22, of Oak Courts in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.

11:11 a.m. — Report of tents in the field at Green River Park on Petty Plain Road. Parties camping. Stated they temporarily moved from the woods as melting snow and rain has made it impossible to stay in their usual spot. Parties were advised to relocate.

10:26 p.m. — Report of a structure fire on Power Square. Fire Department dispatched. Heavy smoke but no active fire. Ambulance responding for patient evaluation. Ventilation complete. Helped involved parties get back into their residence.

Tuesday, March 17

6:58 a.m. — Caller reports a black and white rat terrier/chihuahua mix named Rocky escaped from a Riddell Street home. Walk-in to the station brought a black-and-white dog that was found at High and Haywood streets. Owner came to the station to pick up Rocky.

2:02 p.m. — Mail carrier was reportedly chased by two loose pit bulls on Western Avenue. Information relayed to the animal control officer.

2:39 p.m. — Reporting party states her client received a call from someone claiming to be her granddaughter saying she got arrested. Reporting party states the client then called her granddaughter, who confirmed that she was at work and had not been arrested. Caller was advised to block any potential scam numbers and never give any personal or payment information over the phone. Services rendered.

6:51 p.m. — Crash with injuries reported at Wells and Allen streets. Utility pole struck. Pole is down and blocking the road. One person entrapped. Patient extricated and being evaluated. Eversource responding. Second vehicle involved. Tow requested. Ford truck struck a Honda at the intersection.

7:13 p.m. — Caller heard what she believed to be five gunshots, south of her address on Hope Street. Caller does not see anything out of the ordinary. Officer states everything is quiet the full length of Hope Street.

Wednesday, March 18

1:06 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reporting fraud. Reporting party advised a check he wrote and mailed was altered and cashed in Florida. Report issued.

1:14 p.m. — Reporting party from Allen Street states she got a call from federal court saying she missed court and there was a warrant. Party gave no information to the caller and was advised that she did not have a warrant.

2:42 p.m. — Caller from Conway Street reports the downstairs neighbors and their kids are yelling. Commotion regarding an injured child. Child had their hand stuck in a door. Patient and mother transported by ambulance. Services rendered.

4:31 p.m. — Caller on Riverside Drive requesting to speak to an officer about a car she paid money for and did not receive. Caller bought a vehicle she saw on Facebook Marketplace at a dealership in Long Island, New York. Vehicle has not been delivered and it has been more than a month. Reporting party sent about $1,600 to a representative through Chime for a down payment. Party was advised to contact the dealership and call police in Long Island.

7:59 p.m. — Reporting party on Hastings Street reports her dog started barking and she looked outside and saw a dark-colored sedan in front of her house with no lights on. She reportedly heard someone attempt to get in her front door, then saw a man jump back in the car and leave. Car took a left onto High Street toward Main Street. Officers spoke with a neighbor across the street who has cameras. Cameras showed a silver Chevrolet Impala parked in front of the home during the time frame of the report. Could not see anyone at the front door. Advised the reporting party to make sure all doors in the home are locked and to call police back if it happens again.

Thursday, March 19

12:09 a.m. — Traffic stop at Federal and Pleasant streets. Conor Lee Demers, 22, of Oaklawn Avenue in Orange, was arrested on charges of possession of a Class B drug (four counts), possession of a Class C drug, possession of a Class E drug (three counts), possession of ammunition without an FID card, number plate violation to conceal identity, uninsured motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle and a motor vehicle lights violation.

8:20 a.m. — Caller is feeling unsafe and is concerned about dogs being walked in the Fairview Street area. Reporting party was advised to call if a dog comes after them and was provided information on leash laws. Services rendered.

9:44 a.m. — Tractor-trailer unit struck the bridge on Bank Row. No visible damage to either the vehicle or the bridge. Railroad notified. Driver stated the truck met the height requirements based on the markings. No citation issued.

Friday, March 20

9:46 a.m. — Report of a large boulder in the road at Factory Hollow Road and Route 2. Removed.

3:09 p.m. — Vehicle fire reported at Charlene Manor Extended Care on Colrain Road. Fire Department notified. Fully involved. Fire extinguished and tow requested.

3:43 p.m. — Report of two trucks and one car playing loud music and burning their tires at Cherry Rum Plaza on Bernardston Road. Problem vehicles gone on arrival. Police spoke with a straggler who knows the involved parties. Same will pass along that they are no longer welcome in the lot. Services rendered.

Saturday, March 21

12:59 a.m. — Traffic stop at Wells and Main streets. Noe Ariel Hernandez, 29, of Devens Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, OUI-liquor over .08%, failure to wear a seat belt, failure to stop/yield, a motor vehicle lights violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

4:14 p.m. — Traffic stop on Washington Street. Shane Earl Furtado, 53, of Deerfield Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense), failure to notify the Registry of Motor Vehicles of a name/address change and driving at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit.

Sunday, March 22

12:21 p.m. — Report of a male party screaming in the Olive Street Parking Garage. Nothing heard upon arrival.

12:55 p.m. — Reporting party reports a money container from a parking meter in front of 114 Main St. fell off. Money container was brought to the police substation. Parking enforcement can retrieve it.

4:35 p.m. — Officer encountered a male party who was crossing the road multiple times and walking in the middle of the road on Green River Road. Made contact with the party, who advised he does not like treadmills and was working on his cardio.
