SHELBURNE — Voters will be asked to move funding into different reserve accounts and cover invoices from prior years during a Special Town Meeting on Wednesday, April 8.

Discussion and voting on the four articles on the warrant will commence at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall at 51 Bridge St.

“There’s only four articles of the most recent version of the posting for Special Town Meeting … and it’s basically transferring funds to cover shortfalls,” Selectboard Chair Rick LaPierre explained during a Selectboard and Finance Committee review of the warrant.

Article 4 asks voters to transfer $8,000 from the Cowell Gym User Fee Account to the Cowell Gym Outdoor Courts Account to cover tennis court refurbishment costs, and Article 3 asks voters to transfer $1,507 from the Street Light Account to cover an Eversource bill for work completed on Patten Road in the prior fiscal year.

Voters will also be asked to approve taking $9,300 from the Community Preservation Fund and splitting it evenly into three different accounts: the Historic Resource Reserve Account, the Community Housing Reserve Account and the Open Space Reserve Account.

Another request entails transferring $22,800 from free cash into the following accounts:

  • Reserve fund, $2,300.
  • Memorial Hall expenses, $3,000.
  • EV charging stations, $1,500.
  • Cowell Gym maintenance, $10,000.
  • Health insurance, $6,000.
