The new Elderly/Disabled Tax Fund in Greenfield is the first of its kind in Franklin County, and targets homeowners who are at risk of losing their home for back taxes due. Passed unanimously by the Greenfield City Council and supported by the mayor, this is another tool to prevent people from becoming unhoused.
One important note: Donations to this fund are tax deductible on your federal tax return as well as on your Massachusetts state tax return. You may claim the deduction in Massachusetts even if you do not itemize deductions on your federal income tax return.
