Nomination papers available for town election

MONTAGUE — Nomination papers for the annual town election are available at Montague Town Hall, 1 Avenue A, until Thursday, March 26, at 5 p.m. at the Town Clerk’s Office.

Nomination papers must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. The election will take place on Tuesday, May 19, and the deadline to register to vote is Saturday, May 9. Positions up for election include:

  • Selectboard, one seat with a three-year term.
  • Board of Assessors, one seat with a three-year term.
  • Board of Health, one seat with a three-year term.
  • Parks & Recreation Commission, one seat with a three-year term.
  • Library trustees, three seats with three-year terms.
  • Library trustee, one seat with a two-year term.
  • Moderator, one-year term.
  • Montague Housing Authority, one seat with a five-year term.
  • One non-veteran position on the Soldiers Memorial Committee, three-year term.
  • One veteran position on the Soldiers Memorial Committee, three-year term.
  • Seven Town Meeting members from each precinct with three-year terms.
  • Two Town Meeting members for Precinct 3 with one-year terms.
  • One Town Meeting member for Precinct 6 with a one-year term.

Nomination papers for Gill-Montague Regional School District School Committee seats are provided by the Superintendent’s Office at 35 Crocker Ave. Turners Falls.

Clinical & Support Options to visit The Brick House

TURNERS FALLS — The Brick House Community Resource Center at 24 Third St. will welcome Clinical & Support Options (CSO) on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m.

Mosaic workshop coming to Discovery Center

TURNERS FALLS — A free art program at the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A, will provide materials for guests to make and take home their own mosaics inspired by wintertime nature on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Instructions on building the mosaics will be provided, along with tile, pebbles, marbles and glue. The program is for adults, teens and children ages 6 and up, accompanied by an adult.
