Yvette M. (Paul) Bissell

MONTAGUE, MA – On January 30, 2026, Yvette “Fluff” (Paul) Bissell – a beloved wife, and cherished cousin, friend, aunt, and godmother – left us too soon, having gifted us a legacy of love and generosity. Born on October 4, 1953, to Lillian and Gilbert Paul, she attended St. Anne’s School and Turners Falls High School. While there, she won an award predicting success in her future employment as a respected administrative assistant.

After graduation, Yvette earned her degree at Greenfield Community College while working part-time at Barrett & Baker. She remained there for several years, then moved to H.A. Manning Co., and finally accepted an administrative position at Roy B. Chapin/Romano, Pascucci & Co., where she worked for 23 years. Yvette excelled at people skills so starting at an early age, she happily volunteered wherever she could meet and help others.

Although she was an only child, Yvette grew up in a close-knit extended family. From those early family gatherings, she developed a lifelong love of all multi-generational celebrations. In addition, Yvette loved swimming and water games, she played tennis better than most, and she enjoyed downhill skiing.

In 1974, Yvette met Bob Bissell, who became the love of her life. The couple married in 1982. They discovered a mutual love of the ocean, beginning on Cape Cod before finally settling on Ogunquit, Maine as their slice of heaven on earth. Yvette had a knack for making people feel special; she was known for sending greeting cards that reminded friends and family that she was thinking of them. Her thoughtfulness, easy smile, warmth and genuine interest in others will leave an empty place in many hearts.

“Fluff’s” family will receive guests on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA from 9:15AM until 9:45AM, to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, with Rev. Fr. Stanley J. Aksamit, Pastor, as the Celebrant. Inurnment will take place in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Turners Falls, MA at a later date and time.
