2:30 p.m. — Report of a trespassing individual who is refusing to leave Green Fields Market on Main Street. Anthony Wade Ruehle, 50, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
2:52 p.m. — Report of a stolen backpack containing a work tablet at Stop & Shop on the French King Highway. Spoke to staff, not as reported. Items were accidentally taken by an elderly male who thought the items belonged to his spouse.
8:19 p.m. — Reporting party parked his car on the third floor of the Olive Street Parking Garage and, after coming back from his shift at Village Pizza, found some of the items in his car are missing, including some collectibles and cigarettes. Report issued.
Tuesday, Jan. 20
7:19 a.m. — Caller reports a female party is screaming and throwing things out the second-floor window on Sullivan Lane. Party said she caught her daughter stealing from her. Party said when her daughter was gone, she threw some of her things out the window.
1:37 p.m. — A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on two warrants on Pray Drive.
1:58 p.m. — Customer at Whitney Hill Antiques on Main Street requesting a meat cleaver. Male party states he is looking to kill someone who broke into his apartment. Party acting erratically. Sale of cleaver was denied and party walked away.
4:36 p.m. — Traffic stop on Newton Place. Michael L. Sumner Jr., 35, of School Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, possession of a Class E drug and possession of a Class B drug (subsequent offense).
7:46 p.m. — Reporting party from Laurel Street states her dog ingested cannabis that her neighbor left in the yard. Caller was advised to contact the animal control officer.
Wednesday, Jan. 21
8:16 a.m. — Report of a structure fire on Phillips Street. Fire Department and officer dispatched. Large amount of smoke coming out of the first floor. Called in by a neighbor. Not as reported, steam coming out of vent.
1:21 p.m. — Verbal altercation with a person in the office of Leyden Woods. Female curled into a fetal position. Left the office, threw herself on the ground and is now slowly walking to her apartment. Denied the need for services. No concerning statements made.
8:30 p.m. — Report of an unwanted person on Leonard Street, walking toward the Wendy’s parking lot. Katrina Courtney Bauer, 43, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant.
9:57 p.m. — Report of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian at Main and Conway streets. Leg injury. Taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
Thursday, Jan. 22
12:08 a.m. — Male party yelling at staff over products at the Irving gas station on the Mohawk Trail. Black Honda Civic left the property. Officer out with the vehicle. Just a disturbance, party was being obscene inside the store. Male party was told to leave.
3:14 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at BJ’s Wholesale Club on Colrain Road. Reporting party states two individuals walked out with a tote full of clothes and a gray hamper with shoes in it. Services rendered.
4:18 p.m. — Reporting party from River Street states she received a scam call telling her she has a warrant. Made contact with the reporting party and advised her to block the number.
7:42 p.m. — Hit and run reported on Conway Street. Reporting party heard a loud bang and went outside to see his truck had been struck. Reporting party didn’t see the other involved vehicle or its direction of travel. Female party called to admit she struck the vehicle and took off. Will be en route back to the scene. Department of Public Works requested for the remaining debris in the roadway. Charges pending.
Friday, Jan. 23
9:35 a.m. — Caller from Petty Plain Road states that yesterday between 11:30 a.m. and noon, a man wearing a yellow hard hat and vest came to change her meter. Stated he was from Eversource. However, another worker came to change her meter at approximately 3:30 p.m. the same day. Reporting party noted she had limited interaction with the first person, but the worker who came in the afternoon was from Grid One, who was subcontracted by Eversource and actually changed the meter. Reporting party spoke with Eversource and shared her concerns. They believe the first person may have been a scammer and advised her to call the Police Department. Services rendered.
1:38 p.m. — Caller from the area of Elm and Grove streets reports a male party walking a golden retriever is taking photos of houses. Caller finds this suspicious. Unable to locate.
4:19 p.m. — Caller from Pickett Lane reports the neighbor’s dog ran out in front of his vehicle. Reporting party states he almost hit the dog. Animal control officer advised.
8:56 p.m. — Officer attempting to serve a warrant on Heather Court. Michael Sean Rivers, 46, of River Road in Whately, was arrested on three warrants.
Saturday, Jan. 24
4:42 a.m. — Caller on Cleveland Street reports hearing a dog howling outside, believes the owner forgot it outdoors. Caller states this has happened before and is concerned for the dog due to below-freezing temperatures. Older German shepherd in a fenced-in backyard. Was able to guide the dog back inside. Animal control officer contacted to follow up.
7:17 p.m. — Reporting party states seven cars and trucks are racing in the parking lot at Cherry Rum Plaza on Bernardston Road, reaching speeds of 50 to 55 mph. Spoke to involved parties. All were agreeable to respect the lot and treat it as such.
Sunday, Jan. 25
2:04 p.m. — Female party is looking to speak to an officer about her sister throwing her property out of the house. Party states that she resided with her mother at the Weldon on High Street. She is feuding with her sister, who threatened to put her belongings outside and not allow her to stay there any longer. Party was advised to contact dispatch again if she arrived and there was a conflict. Services rendered.
7:28 p.m. — Caller from Conway Street reports the party downstairs has been yelling and screaming for hours. Young child with two adult parties. Parties were unwilling to open the door upon arrival and were initially uncooperative, but did eventually open the door. Child checks OK. Slight language barrier.
10:08 p.m. — Report of a vehicle operating erratically on Harrison Avenue. A white GMC truck is following a plow truck. Marc David Belhumeur, 55, of Linden Avenue in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of miscellaneous municipal motor vehicle ordinance/bylaw violations, OUI-liquor over .08% and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
