The Greenfield boys Suburban squads are still undefeated after a pair of victories on Saturday at home.

In the fifth and sixth grade game, the Green Wave defeated Ludlow, 32-22. Greenfield took advantage of a strong start to secure the win over the Lions. Lobsang Jamyang led Greenfield (10-0) with 16 points. Grabiel Ortiz added six points, with Orion Ortiz chipping in with five points.

Casey Burke led the Green Wave (10-0) with 12 points in a 51-32 win over the Lions in the seventh and eighth grade contest. Wes Darling manned the paint for the Wave, scoring 10 points. Phillip Brodeur added six points and led the defensive effort.

Greenfield 45, Belchertown 34 โ€” The fifth and sixth graders prevailed at home in a game played earlier in the season. Jamyang led the team with 13 points. Grabiel Ortiz and Brody Suhl also reached double-figures with 10 points each. Orion Ortiz added five points and some gritty defense for the Wave.

Greenfield 68, Belchertown 49 โ€” Burke dropped 26 points in the win over the Orioles for the seventh and eighth graders. J.J. Bones added 16 points. Xaviay Reynolds also reached double-figures with 12 points. Xavier Woodard chipped in with three points.

Four Rivers 53, St. Michaels 29 โ€” The Otters brought home a road win on Jan. 29. Four Rivers traveled to Camp Spoford in New Hampshire for the game. Kolin Broderick led the Four Rivers with 11 points. Henry Schwerin added 10 points. Russell Herbert and Ethan Hannon both chipped in eight points for the Otters.

Girls basketball

Frontier 28, Agawam 8 โ€” Faith Stanisewski dropped 15 points for the Frontier fifth and sixth grade Suburban squad in the road win over the Brownies on Saturday.

Frontier 37, Greenfield 22 โ€” In a Franklin County showdown at Goodnow Gymnasium, the Frontier fifth and sixth graders prevailed on Sunday. Relentless team defense and a balanced scoring attack carried Frontier to the victory.

Ellie Marchand, Grace Barshefsky, Stanisewski and Heidi Benson each scored six points for the Redhawks (7-2). Penelope Gioules (12 points) and Savannah Thomas (eight points) led the offensive effort for the Green Wave.

Athol 25, Greenfield 15 โ€” The Greenfield seventh and eighth grade Suburban team lost to the Bears on the road on Jan. 23. Hailey Sadler led the Wave with six points. Leah Batiste added three points. Sophia Lapan, Lilliana Hubert and Hayden Sadler all had two points.

Greenfield 17, Pioneer 12 โ€”Hailey Sadler scored 10 points in the road win for the Greenfield seventh and eighth grade Suburban team on Jan. 29. Sadler hit a clutch 3-pointer to give Greenfield the lead with 58 seconds left. A steal by Sadler and another basket with a foul shot sealed the win for the Green Wave.

Sofia Lapan scored three points with Hayden Sadler adding four points for Greenfield.

Joslynn Brown nailed a 3-pointer for the Panthers, finishing with three points. Gimena Merida-Martinez led Pioneer with six points.

Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley

Here are the scores from week ending on Jan. 30. The rollers in Shelburne Falls missed Sunday Scotch Doubles and Monday’s Mixed League action on account of snow.

In Tuesday’s Mixed League, Genni Garanin and Tera Tippett both rolled a 97 in high single. Tippett then scored a 255 in high triple. In men’s high single, Anthony Gutierrez rolled a 111 in high single while Paul Cohen carded a 286 in high triple.

In Wednesday’s Mixed League, Sam Purington and Cherie Semanie both scored a 99. Semanie scored a 274 in high triple. Erich Price carded a 107 in high single and a 279 in high triple.

In Thursday’s Mixed League, Ali Moffatt rolled a 100 in high single and a 291 in high triple. In high single, Jon Tibbetts scored a 119 while Ray Dodge rolled a 331 in high triple.

Greenfield Elks Pitch League

Here are the standings after a matches played on Jan. 28 at the Greenfield Elks Club: Bob Ferris (first place, 16 points), Jim Elwell (second place, 15 points) and Doug Houle (third place, 14 points).
