The inside game of the Mohawk Trail Regional girls basketball team was too much for Greenfield in a 49-33 win for the Warriors in Buckland on Tuesday night.

Sadie Wilcox scored 20 points for Mohawk (6-7, 4-4) in the Franklin South match up. Emmalee Inman got in on the action in the paint with 19 points for the Warriors.

The Warriors did well in defending Tayler Bergeron, who scored 12 points for the Green Wave (6-8, 4-4). Amy Mihailicenco led Greenfield with 14 points.

Zephyr Jetzon added seven points for Mohawk.

Mahar 39, Hopkins Academy 21 โ€” Taylor Paluk and Hayden Comeau were both in double-figures in the road win for the Senators in a Franklin South contest.

Hayden Comeau led Mahar with 15 points, with Paluk adding 10 points for the Senators (11-2, 7-1). Julia Hatch chipped in with six points on two 3-pointers.

Putnam 62, Turners Falls 43 โ€” Ivy Lopez scored 21 points, but the Thunder lost at home to the Beavers. Jojo Hayman added nine points for Turners Falls (0-13, 0-5 Tri County North).

Autumn Thornton chipped in with six points.

Pioneer 48, Franklin Tech 32 โ€” Maggie Tsipenyuk led the way for the Panthers in the home win over the Eagles at Messer Gymnasium in Franklin South Competition.

Tsipenyuk scored 13 points and corralled 11 rebounds. Deveney Pillsbury scored 11 points and drained her first career 3-pointer for the Panthers (8-4, 6-3). Kyler McClelland added eight points, four steals and three assists.

Brayleigh Burgh led Franklin Tech (4-10, 1-8) with 13 points.

Boys basketball

Athol 64, Turners Falls 56 โ€” Karim Thompson scored 24 points for the Bears in the home win over the Thunder in independent play. Dominik St. Andre, Ethan Goodwin and Eli Wein each added 12 points for Athol. (8-5).

Jackson Cogswell dropped 26 points for Turners Falls (3-10). Kainen Stevens added 14 points for the Thunder.

McCann Tech 48, Franklin Tech 35 โ€” The Hornets pulled away from the Eagles in the second quarter in the home loss for Franklin Tech in Tri-County North play. Mason Bassett scored 23 points for the Eagles (6-7, 5-4)

Frontier 75, Pioneer 48 โ€” Alex Ellis dropped 34 points for the Redhawks in the Hampshire North win over the Panthers. Garrett Dredge (11 points) and Rowan Modestow (12 points) were both in double-figures for Frontier (14-1, 9-0).

The game was tied, 27-27, at halftime. Frontier ran away from the Panthers in the second half. Judah Glenn scored a career-high 31 points for Pioneer (0-12, 0-9)
