The Community Health Center of Franklin County is holding two community food drives aimed at supporting local families in need.

“Fill the Van. Feed the Community” is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stop & Shop in Greenfield on Friday, Jan. 30, and at Food City in Turners Falls on Tuesday, Feb. 3, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents are invited to bring nonperishable food items to help stock local food pantries. All donations collected will go to the Franklin County Community Meals Program, which oversees meal sites in Orange, Greenfield, Turners Falls and Northfield, as well as the Orange Food Pantry and the Turners Falls Mobile Food Bank.

“Everyone deserves access to healthy, nutritious food,” Katalin Krieger, interim chief operations officer at the Community Health Center of Franklin County, said in a statement. “With this initiative, we hope to bring our community together to make a meaningful difference.”
