Peter G. Wenzler

Colrain, MA – Peter G. Wenzler, aged 82, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2026. Peter was born at home in South Boston on April 21, 1943, to Francis and Frances Wenzler. The family later relocated to Waltham, MA where Peter attended the Fernault State School until 1973 when he moved to Buckland. Peter then worked for a variety of jobs through Community Enterprises, which included the former Mole Hollow Candle, the Blacksmith Shop and Mayhew Tools in Turners Falls.

Peter leaves three siblings: Nancy Munter of Shelburne, Kurt Wenzler (Eileen) of Colrain and Karl Wenzler (Cindy) of Greenfield; three step siblings: Bonnie Rae of Greenfield, JIm Rae (Teresa) of Buckland and Joseph Rae of Charlemont as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Jean Barnes, Frank Wenzler, Jr, Lois Brown, Joseph Wenzler, Susan Harris and Lynne Wenzler.

Peter was loved and respected by people in the community, and was always more than pleased to help out in any way he could. He also loved music (avid Beatles fan), fishing, swimming, building model cars and crocheting. After the passing of his mother, he lived with his brother Kurt and sister-in-law Eileen. He will be dearly missed by many. His family would like to extend sincere and complete gratitude to the staff at the Home at 18 Dana Street in Athol and to Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home, 104 Bridge Street, Shelburne Falls, MA.
