Carsten Couture pinned Jess Petschke in one minute, 37 seconds to capture his 100th win of his career for the Franklin Tech wrestling team at the Eagle Duels on Saturday.

The milestone came at 144 pounds for the senior.

The Eagles went on to beat the Rams, 48-36. Landon Purington also won for the Eagles at 138 pounds. Wade Purington picked up a win at 150 pounds for the Eagles.

Jackson Morey pinned (:45) Andrew Jacob at 215 pounds for the Eagles.

On Monday in Orange, Frontier Regional’s Jocelyn Antes pinned (2:41) Brooke Whedbee of Carver in the semifinals to notch her 100th win for the Redhawks. The milestone came at the Mahar Regional MLK All-Girls Tournament at Grzesik-Bixby Gymnasium.

Antes pinned (:30) Julianne Fox of Lowell in the Round of 16 and then pinned (5:44) Faith Jones of Longmeadow in the quarterfinals. Antes lost in the finals, going 6-2 over the weekend. Eighth grader Ainsley Southergill won a pair of matches and finished tied for seventh.

Franklin Tech 48, Worcester Tech 24 โ€” Morey and Dillon Laffond both scored quick victories by fall at 215 and 285 pounds respectively, in the win over Worcester Tech.

Belchertown 54, Franklin Tech 30 โ€” Paul Giard (113) won by pin (4:48) at 113 pounds, but the Eagles fell to the Orioles.

Morey (215) and Laffond (285) grabbed two more quick pins.

Chicopee 42, Franklin Tech 42 โ€” Max Brunette (132), Landon Purington (138), Couture (144), Wade Purington (150) and Morey (215) all won against the Pacers.

Keene 46, Franklin Tech 24 โ€” Johnathan McIntyre pinned (:43) Joseph Hutchins at 126 pounds, but the Eagles lost to the Blackbirds. Landon Purington also won by fall (:51) at 138 pounds.

South Hadley 42, Franklin Tech 35 โ€” Paul Giard won by technical fall (15-0) at 113 pounds in the loss to the Tigers. Max Brunette pinned (1:22) Ryan Lachance at 132 pounds for the Eagles. Landon Purington also had a quick pin (:13) at 138 pounds.

Couture won a 5-0 decision over Jackson Erali at 144 pounds. Wade Purington added a pin (3:10) at 150 pounds. Morey and Laffond also secured wins.

Frontier 42, Pathfinder 33 โ€” The Redhawks downed the Pioneers on Saturday. Jocelyn Antes pinned (1:01) Crosby Turners at 120 pounds for Frontier.

Hockey

Greenfield 7, Minnechaug 4 โ€” Four third period goals helped the Green Wave to a road win over the Falcons in Berry Division play at Olympia Ice Arena in West Springfield on Monday.

Five players scored for the Green Wave.

Nico Siano scored two goals with an assist for Greenfield (6-5-1, 5-4-1 Berry). Jack Laurie also had two goals in the victory. Chase Zraunig and Brady Poreda added a goal each for Greenfield. Luca Siano got in on the action with a goal and an assist. Shawn Beckwith, Shawn Baumann (2), Nicholas Constantine, Chayton Massa and Wayde Bardwell had assists.

Cooper Smith made 26 saves in net.

Girls basketball

Franklin Tech 50, Pathfinder 43 โ€” Brayleigh Burgh scored 21 points in the home win for the Eagles on Monday in an independent contest.

Madyson Lynde added 11 points for the Eagles (4-7). Samantha Duncan cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds and scored nine points. Lilyann Baldwin and Ariel Peters both had four steals for Franklin Tech.

Nordic Skiing

Mohawk’s Adam Mueller finished sixth overall (18:44) at a MIAA Berkshire League race at Notchview Reservation in Windsor on Monday.

Owen Tucker of Wahconah placed first overall (18:16).

Augustus Niswonger was the next finisher for the Warriors in 11th (19:41). Mohawk finished fifth (66 points) in the team standings. Wahconah took the victory with 34 points.

The Mohawk girls team had two finishers in the top five. Ada Comer placed third (22:22) for the Warriors. Right behind her was Charlotte Niswonger in fourth (22:50).

Bridget Holland of Mount Greylock was the top overall finisher (21:34). Mohawk finished third in the team standings with 43 points. Lenox was first with 25 points.
