TURNERS FALLS โย JaDuke Theater is bringing back “Annie the Musical” for two weekends of performances starting Friday, Nov. 7.
The show, one of the first productions to grace the JaDuke Theater stage in 2019, marks a full-circle moment for the community arts hub.
โThis is one of the greatest and most beloved family musicals JaDuke has done in a very long time,โ Director Nick Waynelovich said in a statement. โItโs one of my favorites.”
Local talent takes center stage, with the title role being shared by two young performers who have grown up in JaDuke’s youth arts programs: Turners Fallsโ Molly McCarthy on Nov. 7, 8 and 9, and Bernardstonโs Madison Bernard on Nov. 14, 15 and 16.
โWeโre so proud that this production features so many young people who have honed their performance skills right here at JaDuke,” Kimberly Williams, producer and executive director of JaDuke Inc., said in a statement. “The captivating music and timeless story are perfect to kick off the holiday season.”
Veteran cast members from across Franklin County who will be performing include Briggs Doxzen as Oliver Warbucks and Sara Paige as the scheming Miss Hannigan.
The musical features iconic songs like โTomorrow,โ โItโs the Hard Knock Lifeโ and โMaybe,โ along with a canine co-star, Sandy, Annieโs loyal sidekick.
Performances of “Annie the Musical” will be held Fridays, Nov. 7 and 14, at 6 p.m.; Saturdays, Nov. 8 and 15, at 6 p.m.; and Sundays, Nov. 9 and 16, at 2 p.m. at JaDuke Theater, 110 Industrial Blvd., Turners Falls.
General admission is $15. Children ages 12 and under, as well as senior citizens ages 65 and older, will be admitted for $12. Tickets are available atย jaduketheater.comย or at the box office.
