Bernardston, MA – Virginia passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2025. Born in Bernardston, Massachusetts on April 16th, 1933, to Jonathon (Bert) Raymond and Mary Alice Simser. She was a graduate of Northfield High School and Franklin County Hospital School of Nursing, completing her studies in 1954.
Virginia dedicated fifty years to her profession as a nurse. Her compassion and approachable demeanor touched countless lives. She spent several years residing in Dallas, Texas before returning to Bernardston for her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Marc Serrao; her daughter, Melanie Serrao; and her grandchildren, Dillon and Savana. Virginia was predeceased by her father and mother, Bert and Mary Raymond; her sister, Shirley Mae Bates; and her brother, Bert Raymond Jr.
In accordance with her wishes, Virginia will be cremated and interred in the family plot at Center Cemetery in Bernardston. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
