In a recent piece by Recorder columnist John Huer, who bashed capitalism, one might ask how would the Recorder or any business operate without profits. He states that few people believe capitalism has been good for the world. Well, American capitalism has lifted millions upon millions out of poverty. Socialism spawns dictators, and dictators only thrive under socialism. He went on about people in Canada eating better quality meats than us. Does this professor not understand that you can enjoy any quality meats you choose in a capitalist society? I often laugh inside when I hear people bashing capitalism, yet live off the fruits of its labor.
