This is a time to stand up and speak out to defend our U.S. Constitution and democracy. Join with others at one of the many No Kings events on Saturday, Oct. 18. The No Kings Day in Orange will be from 11-12:30 p.m. It will include a stand out and rally with speakers and music at Memorial Park (S. Main and Water St.). This is a peaceful event following the principles of nonviolent action organized by Indivisible North Quabbin. We are also working to build a movement that respects all people and wants people to have adequate health care, healthy food, good public education, adequate housing, and protection of voting rights for all.
Besides No Kings Day and weekly stand outs, Indivisible North Quabbin started four subcommittees to work on projects regarding voting, education, immigration issues and community outreach and self-sufficiency (mutual aid). As part of mutual aid (Neighbors helping Neighbors), there will be a food collection for local food pantries. This part of No Kings2 recognizes that the federal budget cuts are hurting not only Massachusetts state budget programs but individuals and families in our region. If you are able and plan to be in Orange for No Kings on Oct. 18, please bring non-perishable food items for local food pantries.
