Friday, Aug. 1

8:54 a.m. — Male party is reportedly laying on a bench yelling at people playing pickleball at Green River Park on Petty Plain Road. Party was moved long.

5:00 p.m. — A traffic stop on Legion Avenue resulted in the arrest of Daniel Michael Chambers, 42, of Bradford Drive in Greenfield, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with suspended license and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violations.

8:19 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Main and Miles streets. Eric R. Bell, 36, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and assault and battery. Also arrested was Donald W. Barrett, 49, of Wells Street in Greenfield, on a charge of disorderly conduct (subsequent offense).

8:36 p.m. — Report of a female screaming, trying to get into Greenfield Middle School on Federal Street. Emily Rodriguez, 35, of Northampton Street in Easthampton, was arrested on a warrant.

Saturday, Aug. 2

7:40 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering on Osgood Street. Officer to investigate. Reporting party states he can hear someone taking a crowbar to the door handle. Not as called in, noise disturbance. No signs of force. Noise issues all night. Another neighbor reports the same. A second call, regarding loud banging, came in at 8:42 a.m.

10:32 a.m. — Caller seeks a welfare check on a male party stumbling in the roadway in the area of Hope and Prospect streets. Party claims he has not slept in days, denied drug use. Said he could go to a friend’s house on Armory Street and stay there for a bit.

6:03 p.m. — Stacie Ann Boyer, 37, of High Street in Greenfield, was arrested on two warrants following a traffic stop on Hope Street.

9:52 p.m. — Shoplifting reported at CVS Pharmacy on Federal Street. Male party wearing a ski mask and winter coat left down the sidewalk. Jeremiah Crossman, 34, of Broadway in Lake Pleasant, was arrested on charges of shoplifting by asportation and possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense).

Sunday, Aug. 3

7:32 a.m. — Reporting party states there is a male and female arguing near the John W. Olver Transit Center. Caller states he is walking his dog on Hope Street and has been hearing this for approximately 20 minutes. Officer spoke with a party at the train station who stated he has not heard anything. Another officer checked with people on the Greenfield Common who believe the noise was coming from the Olive Street Parking Garage. Area checked, no one arguing located.

10:22 a.m. — Reporting party states an older male party was staring at her kids at the Village Shops on the French King Highway and when she confronted him, the male reportedly stated, “I’m watching those beautiful boys.” Male party left prior to police arrival. Reporting party took a photo of the vehicle’s license plate.

7:38 p.m. — Caller reports finding a pressure cooker in the tall grass behind the drop-off box in the Stop & Shop parking lot on the French King Highway. Reporting party thought it was suspicious. Fire Department notified. Found to be a dirty cooking pot.

Monday, Aug. 4

12:37 a.m. — Reporting party reports a man just tried to force entry into her home on Sullivan Lane. Steven Joseph Viveiros III, 19, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on Elm Street on charges of breaking and entering into a building at night, intimidation of a witness/juror/police/court official and disturbing the peace.

4:03 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Home Depot on the Mohawk Trail. Staff states there is a party going through the dumpster. Would like them checked on and removed. Possibly in a white Ford truck. Located vehicle pulling into the BJ’s Wholesale Club parking lot, then pulling out. Vehicle was stopped at Mohawk Trail and Miner Street for violations. Subject was advised not to trespass on private property to go through the dumpsters and to seek permission first. Only used cardboard boxes were observed in the bed of the truck.

9:40 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering into a vehicle reported at Blessed Sacrament Church on Federal Street. Caller states that while at the church on July 31, sometime between 11 a.m. and noon, someone reached through her car window and took her handicap placard. Report issued.

4:30 p.m. — Lorie Ann Clarke, 45, of Oak Courts in Greenfield, was arrested on the Greenfield Common on a warrant.

Tuesday, Aug. 5

9:30 a.m. — Report of a threat(s) being made at the Town Hall. Employee states a male party has been making threats toward the parking enforcement officers over multiple days. Male party was upset he got a parking ticket when his vehicle died on Court Square. Party was moved along.

2:45 p.m. — Reporting party states a group of roughly 15 sheep are in the road on Leyden Road. Animal control officer is responding.

2:49 p.m. — Reporting party states there is a male party sitting under a tree on Main Street with multiple empty cans next to him. Reporting party states he looks dehydrated, would like an officer to check on him. Steven P. Cuoco, 61, of Franklin Street in Northampton, was arrested on a charge of having an open container/drinking alcohol in public.

4:04 p.m. — Report of a white convertible with its motor running all day on Shattuck Street. Reporting party states there is a male party inside the car. Believes he may be watching the neighbor’s house. Male party states he sits in the vehicle to cool off and drink water as he is doing yardwork for a friend. Nothing suspicious.

6:49 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at Stop & Shop on French King Highway. Individual believed to have taken two carriages of merchandise. Kimberly J. Coble, 42, of Chapman Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting of more than $250 by concealing merchandise.

7:54 p.m. — Received a 911 hang-up from a Wells Street location. No answer on callback. Officers sent. Gates Tuttle, 54, of Wells Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of assault and battery on a family/household member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Wednesday, Aug. 6

3:58 a.m. — Breaking and entering reported on Hope Street. Reporting party states a man just ran into her house, was being chased by five or six people. Rafael Manuel Rivera, 37, of Hope Street in Greenfield, was arrested on charges of armed burglary, breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and vandalizing property.

1:15 p.m. — Officer requested to respond to a fight in progress at Main and Chapman streets. Thomas Michael Patnode, 25, of Oak Court in Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Also arrested was Anthony Stephon Greene, 30, of Thayer Road in Greenfield, on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct.

5:37 p.m. — Caller reports he was attacked by three people near Foster’s Supermarket and they left heading south on Conway Street. Hailey Dixon, 32, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant. James Orlando Sanchez, 34, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest (two counts), carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense, two counts), conspiracy to violate drug law and trafficking in 18 grams or more/less than 36 grams of cocaine. Also arrested was Sara Jean Elizabeth Sanchez, 31, of Amherst Road in Sunderland, on a warrant as well as on charges of possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense, two counts), possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent offense) trafficking in 36 grams or more/less than 100 grams of cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug law, resisting arrest and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official.

Thursday, Aug. 7

8:06 a.m. — Reporting party would like to report child neglect. Reporting party states that at 7 a.m., a 1-year-old child was standing naked next to the road in the rain on Leyden Road. Not an adult in sight. Reporting party tried to talk to the child but the child walked away. Officer to investigate. All alright. Child was outside with a sibling at the time.

9:24 a.m. — Hit and run reported on Congress Street involving a black 2012 Toyota Corolla. Caller reports the vehicle was hit sometime overnight. Appears someone backed into the vehicle while it was parked on the street.

11:47 a.m. — Report of unwanted person(s) at the Mohawk Mall on Main Street. Two people in an alcove on the west side of the building. Officers sent. Two parties were told to move along. They agreed to gather their belongings and leave the property.

7:37 p.m. — Ryan Adams, 41, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested at Oak Courts on a warrant.

Friday, Aug. 8

1:35 p.m. — Caller requesting to speak to an officer about people who attempted to take a full shopping cart from Big Y on the Mohawk Trail. Reporting party states the store was able to get the product back and they were also able to get photos of the license plate. Receipt shows the involved parties attempted to walk out with more than $900 worth of items. Report taken.

1:59 p.m. — Reporting party wants to make a complaint about an address on Pierce Street. States that every weekend they are having tag sales and it blocks traffic flow. Reporting party states they know they don’t have a permit because they have already looked into it and the people don’t live at that address. Advised if it looks like they are setting up tomorrow, to call police.

Saturday, Aug. 9

8:22 a.m. — Reporting party reports that the people that set up a tag sale every weekend are back and are still blocking traffic on Pierce Street. Spoke to individuals, they are having the tag sale with their son who resides at the listed address. Agreed to move items that were blocking the sidewalk.

1:36 p.m. — Party from Oak Courts wants to speak to an officer about being harassed by a neighbor. John Mogilka, 37, of Oak Court in Greenfield, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Also arrested was Lee-Anna Jean Renaud, 45, of Oak Court in Greenfield, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

7:39 p.m. — Luis M. Mercer-Torres, 31, of Colrain Street in Greenfield, was arrested on a warrant on Federal Street.

9:14 p.m. — Reporting party states there is someone knocking on his door loudly on Harrison Avenue and he doesn’t know who it is. Checked area, unable to locate.

Sunday, Aug. 10

1:23 a.m. — Chester Thadeus Sinclair, 77, homeless of Greenfield, was arrested on a charge of trespassing at the Mohawk Mall on Main Street.

11:41 a.m. — Report of a city ordinance violation on Pierce Street. Sidewalk completely obstructed, advised to move.

12:10 p.m. — Report of two bicycles stolen from the Reed Building on Franklin Street the night before. Report taken.

3:48 p.m. — Reporting party from Plantation Circle would like to speak to an officer regarding harassment and ongoing threats. Trade made on Facebook Marketplace, dirt bike for four-wheeler. Involved party was not happy with the trade. Bill of sale in hand. Civil matter. Party was advised to block and contact police if harassment continues.
