Buckland Purple Heart Ceremony set for Sept. 22
BUCKLAND — The town of Buckland will honor its veterans at an Order of the Purple Heart Ceremony on Monday, Sept. 22.
At 3 p.m., town officials and local legislators will be proclaiming the town as a Purple Heart Town, dedicated to honoring and supporting its veterans. The event will be held at Town Hall at 17 State St.

Conversation Café to discuss emergency preparedness
BUCKLAND — Residents are invited to join the councils on aging of Ashfield, Buckland and Shelburne, as well as each town’s emergency response personnel, for a Conversation Café on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mary Lyon Church, 17 Upper St.
Attendee can enjoy a light meal and learn about being prepared for a variety of emergencies, both anticipated and unanticipated. The Conversation Café aims to answer questions that residents might have as well as hear from attendees about how they have personally dealt with emergency situations in the past.

Next Historical Society open house set for Sept. 28
BUCKLAND — The Buckland Historical Society invites the community to explore its newly restored English-style barn and learn more about the town’s history during its next open house on Sunday, Sept. 28.
From 1 to 4 p.m., the Wilder Homestead at 129 Ashfield Road and the Historical Society Museum at 20 Upper St. will be open for tours. Visitors can peruse town records and artifacts, explore a shoemaker’s shop and visit a furnished homestead.
