GREENFIELD — Nicole “Nikki” Nartowicz tends bar. Where that bar is, however, is your call.
The 34-year-old owns and operates Nomadic Spirits Mobile Bartending, a small business she started at the beginning of the year to help bring the party to you.
“It’s very easy — I just show up and set up. I’ve got coolers, ice,” she said. “I bring everything that is non-alcoholic, so it’s called a ‘dry hire.'”
Nartowicz has been in the hospitality industry since she was 18 years old and most recently worked at Greenfield’s Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center. She had been the bar manager, lead bartender and marketing manager until the business suspended virtually all operations due to a family health issue.
Some regulars at Hawks & Reed had asked her to bartend at private parties.
“And I was like, ‘Wow! What an idea!” Nartowicz recounted.
She has worked two weddings so far — one in East Longmeadow, the other in Montague — and has four or five events booked for 2026.
“I really hope to grow this into a full-time business that serves Massachusetts and New Hampshire, with a great team of bartenders who value the local New England bounty and love to use local ingredients as well,” she said.
Nartowicz mentioned her favorite drink to make is a strawberry-basil lemon drop.
“Made with fresh ingredients, the basil syrup really stands out and it’s a fun drink,” she said. “You can adapt it to a mocktail.”
Nomadic Spirits Mobile Bartending can be found on The Knot and WeddingWire, two wedding-planning websites. The first 25 miles are free and then she charges the IRS mileage rate, which is currently 70 cents per mile. More information is available at nomadic-spirits.com.
