Assistive listening system installed at Ashfield Town Hall
ASHFIELD — Residents who have had trouble hearing the speakers at Town Meeting are encouraged to check out the new assistive listening system at Town Hall.
In response to requests from residents, the town has installed an Auri assistive listening system in the upper hall of Town Hall on Main Street, funded through LifePath’s Age & Dementia Friendly Community Grants initiative. Ashfield is one of 11 recipients of up to $3,000 in funding across Franklin County and the North Quabbin region.
The assistive listening system allows sounds from the microphone to go directly to a user’s hearing aids or headphones. Residents can learn about the system and try it for themselves during a luncheon hosted by the Council on Aging and Town Clerk Alexis Fedorjaczenko on Thursday, Sept. 4, at noon.
For more information or to RSVP, contact Fedorjaczenko at TownClerk@ashfield.org or 413-628-4441, ext. 5.
Sept. 6: ‘Hobo Day’ at Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum

The troupe is led by Dennis Picard, who has been a museum professional in the living history field for more than 45 years, with long associations with Old Sturbridge Village, Hancock Shaker Village and other New England museums. This troupe is made up of present or former museum professionals and members of the teaching profession.
