Karl Meyer has expert and experienced insights into this ill-conceived effort to continue the environmental impact of FirstLight’s damage to this amazing [Connecticut River] waterway. Prior to the application to renew a contract to powerfully suck water up a “mountainside” to a reservoir, this whole operation was/is a disaster for the river.
FERC obviously isn’t very concerned about the environment since it gives its blessing to so much stuff, like pipelines, that really mess up our environment. Just plain old “common sense” says what is being done to the river and and its occupants and wildlife neighbors is wrong. Besides reading Meyer’s advice, look up and read Wendell Berry’s “The Way of Ignorance.”
