10:58 a.m. — Accident reported on Fairview Street near New England Natural Breads, but no injuries reported; called in by a DPW unit and also reports no injuries, but unknown if fluids; officers and fire department sent, and found there were no injuries or fluids; fire department cleared; officer found minor damage, both vehicles were westbound as one was turning into a driveway; spoke with witnesses as well; all stories conflicted and the officer was unable to determine a violation; officer assisted with exchange of information.
4:01 p.m. — Manager of the Winslow Building on Wells Street reports a large fight in the hallway there; officers responded, and arrested was Raymond L. Segarra, 43, of Wells Street, Greenfield, charged with assault and battery.
4:54 p.m. — Reporting person from the Miles Street Hotel apartments states that she and her boyfriend heard threats yelled at her and her boyfriend from a man in another apartment, saying he was going to go into their apartment and murder them; officers sent, and spoke to the female, who states the male involved threatened her because she was yelling up to the window from outside about having $20 stolen last night; officer contacted the male involved, who stated that the woman caller was yelling, “ni—er, ni—er.” up to his window, at which time he told her he would beat her ass if she continued with the name calling; peace was restored, for now.
5:18 p.m. — Disturbance on Wells Street where the reporting person states that her roommate had taken her things when she was outside to have a smoke; when she came back in, her stuff was gone, and she says that he wants her out of the location; officer sent, and managed a property dispute.
5:32 p.m. — Disturbance at the Miles Street Hotel apartments; same report as in the previous issue in that location; officers sent, disagreement quelled, and determined it as a neighborhood dispute.
6:02 p.m. — Caller from the west side of the Route 91 rotary where the caller says he saw a tire bounce off a tractor trailer unit, and may have possibly stayed in the road or rolled down the embankment; officer sent, road was clear.
10:15 p.m. — Disturbance at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street and officers found a large group of youths and vehicles, parked in the lot, along Lincoln Street; office spoke to the clerks about the group, and then spoke to the group regarding noise.
9:45 a.m. — Caller from Park Street reports she was, “verbally attacked,” by her neighbor in the building in the hallway at this location; the caller stated she was with her 9-year-old grandchild when she was approached by the neighbor who was yelling, “you’re a fat lazy pig … you better watch yourself.” The caller spoke to an officer and after several attempts to contact the neighbor, the man called back to say he would meet with an officer outside; the officer spoke to the male and he was advised of his behavior.
10:05 a.m. — Caller from Kostanski Funeral Home at Kostanski Square reports they discovered a hypodermic needle on the front lawn of the business; they were advised an officer will respond as soon as available.
2:13 p.m. — Fire department checking for a report of smoke in the area of Southworth Paper Mill on Canal Road; the fire department then requested an officer to respond if possible as this appears to be an outside fire behind the old Indeck building’ services rendered.
9:07 a.m. — Harassment reported at Red Brook Lane where the reporting person says a woman is outside her window waving her court paper at her, and the reporting person requests an officer; officer responded and spoke with the reporting person, and discussed her options with obtaining a criminal harassment order, because she states this has been an ongoing event.
9:20 p.m. — Officer on patrol spotted an individual with an active arrest warrant in a vehicle on Hayden Street; she was placed in custody and arrested was Lisa M. Marion, 48, of Hayden Street, Orange, on three default warrants.
9:40 a.m. — Larceny reported by a person from Mechanic Street where the woman says her medications were stolen from her apartment last night by two unknown males who were there last night, about midnight; she is missing about 10 to 12 bottles of prescription medications; she wanted this recorded, so she could refill them.
1:45 p.m. — The reporting person from Mechanic Street reports he is getting harassed on Facebook by a guy, and says it is the same guy he told an officer about the other night; he took down his Facebook page, but he is still harassing him by Facebook messenger; he was advised to contact Facebook about blocking him.
9:04 a.m. — Traffic stop on Wisdom Way near the Calvary Cemetery, following a vehicle pursuit; investigation leads to arrest of Dustin P. King, 29, of Wisdom Way, Greenfield, charged with operating a motor vehicle after right to operate is revoked, subsequent offense, operating recklessly so as to endanger, and failure to stop for police.
7:05 a.m. — Caller from Warwick Road stated they found two sets of tires on the side of the road there; message left with Orange Highway Department for removal.
8:30 a.m. — Fire department responding to a call on Whitney Street for a fire alarm; officer also sent, and on arrival found it to have been set off by burnt bacon.
10:16 a.m. — Officer on patrol came upon a vehicle that was disabled on South Main Street, in the road. Found that the tie rod had broken after hitting a pot hole; arrangements made for a tow.
10:30 a.m. — Vandalism reported from Oaklawn Avenue where the caller reports her car was vandalized; officer responded and found there were some scratches found on the driver’s side door, and also a marker light lens was popped off; the reporting person wanted this on record for insurance purposes.
11:21 a.m. — Officer on patrol saw that some of the plastic covering a roof of a former business has detached from the roof and is in the river off Chase Court; message left for the building inspector.
12:20 p.m. — Person called into the station from East River Street looking to speak with an officer in regards to picking up a turtle from a nearby home; she was provided with options on retrieving the animal.
12:27 p.m. — Caller reports two males smoking marijuana at the driveway to an East River Street location; officer report the people were gone on arrival.
1:12 p.m. — Caller from Brookside Road reports to Athol Police that there appears to be a fire at the base of a telephone pole on that road; officer sent, and found it to be in Orange; area was checked and the fire was already extinguished before officer’s arrival; the fire department was notified.
1:13 p.m. — Control got a call from East Main Street from a female stating another female broke into the house and attacked her, and left in a red minivan; the reporting person states the incident is due to money; the female was located and spoken with, and she stated that she never went in the house, but was there as she believes the caller has stolen $1,000 from her; after an investigation, and also listening to the 911 tapes, both people were advised to take out their own complaints, if they wish to pursue charges.
1:20 p.m. — Control reports the fire department is handling a call at the intersection of South Main and Water streets, where a gas tank fell off of a vehicle; both police units were tied up at a breaking and entering, investigation, but checked when cleared, and found the fire department was all set.
7:28 p.m. — Caller from Prentice Avenue reports his roommate spit in his face; officer to investigate, and report filed.
8:07 p.m. — Disturbance on Main Street where a man was yelling at “God,” about PTSD; (post-traumatic stress syndrome.); the man was located and moved along, no problems found.
9:31 p.m. — Report of a mattress and box spring in the middle of the road blocking traffic on the west side of the covered bridge; items were removed from the roadway, and the DPW was advised.
10:24 p.m. — Disturbance reported on Davis Street, where the caller says a male and female who live on the first floor of an apartment house, are yelling at each other and have been for a couple of hours; the involved people had a few friends over, drinking beer, and being loud; parties left prior to officers arrival; peace was restored.
1 a.m. — Accident reported on Devens Street, where the caller reports a red Jeep style, drove into the front of this building, and then left driving toward Wells Street; the reporting person states it drove into the front of the house, and left a bunch of parts, and there is a fluid trail leading from the house; officers followed the fluid trail to a residence on School Street and attempted to make contact with the person in the residence; made entry into unlocked door due to the observed damage to the windshield and possible resulting injuries to the operator; he was located outside; the vehicle has heavy front end damage; he was assisted with pictures and statements; he was cited on six charges, and will be summoned to court; he was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
2:10 a.m. — A reporting person from Egypt Road in South Deerfield, states she received text messages from a 12- to 13-year-old female who states she has taken 3,000 milligrams of Tylenol, and she is tired and going to bed; the caller said she was in Greenfield, but no other information on the location was given; phone number and carrier and first name were given; the reporting person works for a crisis text hotline; phone company states the call came from a coordinated crossed latitudes, and the address was given for the subscriber, who maps up at that location; the information was passed along to Shelburne Control.
3:03 a.m. — Suspicious activity at Beacon Field were the officer located a vehicle with one person inside and the male states he is couch surfing and staying in his car for the night; he was advised of town park curfews and advised to move to the Registry of Motor Vehicles parking area for the remainder of the night.
7:34 a.m. — Traffic stop on Main Street, by the library, where the female operator was asking several people where to buy some drugs, spoke with the female in the parking area in front of the fire station and she reports she was looking for marijuana; K-9 unit from Franklin County House of Correction, was called in, and the dog indicated at the driver’s door but no items found inside the car; the female admitted she has a cocaine problem, and she was advised to leave the area.
9:32 a.m. — Caller from Grant Street reports a physical disturbance, and the parties are now separated; one inside and one outside; found to be a fight between two friends; one reports he had a friend sleep over last night, and then he found a cigarette butt on the floor; a fight ensued, but the friend had left prior to officer’s arrival; no further action required.
9:34 a.m. — Disturbance at the Winslow Building on Wells Street where the reporting person stated a male is outside this location with a long knife on his side; officer responded, but a legal knife was in a sheath, and he was advised.
4:27 p.m. — Burglar alarm activation at Hassey Savage Co. on industrial Boulevard, and the zone given is a, “private office”; alarm company will attempt to contact a key holder and the key holder will respond with an ETA of four minutes; officer and key holder checked the building and found a faulty alarm in one of the offices; Detecto Guard will be looking at the alarm tomorrow.
7:31 p.m. — Officer cleared out the skate park as they were advised the park is closed after dark; verbal warning given.
4:49 a.m. to 11:36 p.m. there were a series of eight fire alarm troubles in area from Keith Street apartments to Park Villa apartments and some showed, “account test signals overdue,” but others indicated trouble with the fire alarm panel.
1:51 a.m. — Repeat of fire alarm troubles, this one at Turners Falls High School on Turnpike Road and showed, “account test signal overdue.”
9:10 a.m. — Control advised they got a call from Center drive with a noise complaint at that address, and the reporting person states that the upstairs tenant’s children have been running around since 3 a.m.; on arrival, all those involved were spoken with, and they advised they will keep the noise down.
10:35 a.m. — Control was advised of a caller reporting a mattress in the middle of the north bound travel lane on Route 202, the Daniel Shays Highway; on officer’s arrival the mattress was moved out of the road and Mass DOT was contacted.
12:35 p.m. — Officer wanted on Pleasant Street from where Control got the call stating there is an argument occurring between two people, on officer’s arrival the situation was discussed and one stated he was going to leave, so there weren’t any further problem.
1:11 p.m. — Control got a call about young kids climbing on a dumpster; the caller is concerned for their safety; they were gone on arrival of police, the reporting person has taken a picture to show to management; the reporting person then saw the kids, and pointed them out, and the officer spoke with them about the danger of playing around a dumpster.
5:40 p.m. — Control got a call regarding youth playing on the ledges near West River Street; officer responded and spoke with the four youths who were headed back toward Oaklawn Avenue and advised them to use care, due to traffic.
11 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering, on Chapman Street, officer to investigate; taken from the living room was a PlayStation 4, and $50 cash; a male working at the house on the reporting person’s vehicle had opportunity, and officer is attempting to locate the person; the reporting person states he is currently living in Vermont at an unknown address.
12:22 p.m. — Caller would like to talk with an officer regarding his 18-year-old daughter living in a tent in the area of Home Depot on the Mohawk Trail; officer located the daughter, and then spoke with the parent; she is living with a boyfriend in the tent; officers found the daughter and she is OK, and will be contacting mom and dad.
12:31 p.m. — Request that police check the welfare of a person at the Weldon House on High Street; officer located the person at home and spoke with a family member also on scene, who wasn’t aware the meals were starting today.
12:55 p.m. — Accident with injuries on the Mohawk Trail at Robbins Road; officers and fire department sent; two vehicles involved; fire department forcing one door open; both vehicles towed at request of owners; video footage taken and report filed.
2:48 p.m. — Accident reported in the Big Y Foods parking lot, but no injuries reported, two vehicles involved, report taken.
4:50 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Winslow Building on Wells Street where the reporting person called 911 to say that a man named Tom wouldn’t leave his apartment, he said the man has been drinking. Known subject was moved along by officers.
4:51 p.m. — Report of a missing person from the Star Key Program on Park Street where a female reporting person from Department of Children and Families says the missing person was last seen on 3/14/16, and the officer spoke with the reporting person. the missing person was entered into the NCIC national alert system.
10:09 p.m. — Accident reported at Montague City Road and Southern Avenue; caller states she was driving a rental vehicle, and her vehicle hit a telephone pole; officer on scene advises the pole is broken in half; dispatch is contacting Eversource; road will need to be closed down; DPW and Medcare were notified; later an Eversource truck was on the scene; roadway was closed; report filed.
11:13 p.m. — Despondent person flagged down an officer in the parking lot at the station and the male requests Medcare for a section 12; he requests a mental health evaluation, and states he is being brainwashed by his employers, and his cell phone is being tapped; the male is currently babysitting his 8-year-old niece who is asleep in his vehicle; Medcare contacted for transportation; the child’s father was contacted, and came to retrieve the child, and an officer conducted a follow up at the hospital and completed the Section 12 process for the male.
11:35 p.m. — Despondent person reported at TD Bank on Main Street, where the subject states she hasn’t had her depression medication since early this morning, and wished to take an ambulance ride to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center, to speak with Clinical and Support Options; she was transported.
4:16 p.m. — Walk-in reporting fraud and explains that he and his wife received a letter from the IRS indicating that someone has attempted to file taxes in their name; he stated he has since contacted the IRS to confirm this; they were given several things to do, one of which was to report this to the Montague Police Department; report taken.
4:43 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at the Kharma Salon on Avenue A where the reporting person says there is a white male, white sweater, blue or green hooded shirt, and carrying a black backpack, that is intoxicated inside the salon and refusing to leave; the second call reports the male left the salon, walking toward Third Street, and crossed toward the Shea theater; officer then has the male in custody, brought him to the station, and he was placed in protective custody.
