GREENFIELD — The China Gourmet restaurant on the Mohawk Trail is expected to reopen soon after repairs to fix water damage from a burst pipe are complete.
The restaurant owner could not be reached for comment, but Greenfield Building Inspector Mark Snow said a water pipe burst during the extremely cold weather several weeks ago, causing damage throughout the kitchen, food preparation and bar area.
A sign in the restaurant’s window says, “Closed for freeze-up repairs.”
“The owners have been working with the inspector’s office, the health department and the fire department for the necessary repairs and they’re expected to open in the very near future,” Snow said Thursday.
