CONWAY — This month, the Conway Historical Society will provide a glimpse into the life of Mary Todd Lincoln, 16th first lady of the United States and wife of President Abraham Lincoln, as portrayed by Greenfield actress Kathy Kennedy Llamas.
The presentation will be held Nov. 15, starting at 7 p.m. at 50 Main St., the historical society’s building.
The piece offers her reflection on her early life, her courtship with Abraham, the White House years, the deaths of three of her children and the assassination of her husband as she prepares for self-imposed exile towards the end of her life, according to the Historical Society.
“Listen to her perspective of events and bear witness to her complex nature, as only she can tell it,” a society publicity statement adds about the approximately 90-minute performance, which will have “a very brief intermission.”
After, there will be a meet and greet with the actress portraying Mrs. Lincoln followed by a discussion over light refreshments. For more information, contact Mary Irwin, historical society secretary, at 413-369-4224.
