It was time for someone to stop Cole Littlewood’s run of dominance in the Late Model Sportsman division at Monadnock Speedway.

Who better than his brother Justin?

The Orange driver stopped Cole’s streak at three straight last Saturday with a win in the 25-lap feature. Justin started at the front and never looked back, holding off challenges from Ryan Bell and Ryan Currier. Cole Littlewood settled for fourth after winning his heat race.

With a fourth-place finish in the NHSTRA Modified 40-lapper, Deerfield’s Ben Byrne moved into first place in the points standings by two ahead of Hatfield’s Tyler Leary, who finished sixth after winning his heat race. Palmer’s Brian Chapin scored his first victory of the season, taking the lead from Granby’s Nate Wenzel on lap 10 and zooming off to the checkered flag. Trevor Bleau and Wenzel rounded out the top three.

The Mini Stock division took center stage in its 40-lap Battle for the Belt event, with Greg Millette easing to his second win of the season. Julia Raymond powered her way to second in the 23-car field, followed by Gordon Farnum, Tim LeBlanc and defending champion Louis Maher.

For the second time in less than a month, Kenny Thompson scored the victory in the 25-lap Street Stock race, with points leader Tim Wenzel of Holyoke settling for second again. Hillary Renaud was third.

Owen Zilinski of Gill won for the second straight week in the Young Guns division, leading the final 11 laps of the 15-lap feature. The 11-year-old joins his older brother Zach as a two-time winner this season. Zach has since graduated to the Pure Stock division.

The Exit Realty Pro Trucks Series also took to the high banks, with G-Rod Giordano Jr. celebrating his 25th birthday in Victory Lane. He took the lead from Connor Souza on lap 33 of the 55-lapper and pulled away for the checkers.

This Saturday, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour takes center stage for the Duel at the Dog 200, presented by JDV Productions. The Tour returns to Monadnock after a one-year hiatus and will put on quite the show. The Granite State Pro Stock Series will also compete in a 75-lap showdown. Modified driver Jimmy Blewett will also take part in the Pro Stock race. Monadnock’s Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Late Model Sportsmen will also showcase their talents.

General admission tickets are $40 and can be purchased at monadnockspeedway.com.
