Wilderness Skills & Cooking Camps, ages 8 to14 — Each week during the summer the Y has four summer camps for children ages 4 to 14. Camp Apex has specialty camps each week. Lego and Soccer will be offered Aug. 1 to 5, Wilderness Camp Aug. 8 to 19, Cooking Aug. 15 to 19 and Fall Conditioning Aug. 22 to 26 for boys and girls ages 8 to 14. The specialty part of the day is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the afternoons are spent doing regular Apex activities. The fees per week are $180 for Y members, $190 for Program Associates and $200 for non members. Some financial aid is still available to cover two weeks of summer camps. Y Preschool Registration — The YMCA operates a full-day 50 weeks per year preschool for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old. Parents can choose from two-, three- and five-day options. Early and/or late care is available along with snow day care. The school has two modern classrooms but also utilizes the Y’s pool, gymnastics center and gym for daily P.E. activities. Parents of five-day/50 week enrollees also get a free Silver Family YMCA membership. There will be an open house on Monday, Aug. 1 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Parents can also call Lisa Jackson the schools director at 773-3646, ext. 431 to schedule a visit and tour. The school accepts voucher funding and the Y has some financial aid available.

Before/After School Child Care — The Y offers before and after school child care programs for children in K-6 grades from Greenfield, Turners and Gill. The programs are based in the Y’s Game Room/Kid Fit Center but also use the gym for P.E. and the Social Room for homework help. The programs operate all school year including school vacation weeks and snow days. Before care is from 6:15 to 8:30 a.m. and after care is from school dismissal to 6 or 7 p.m. There will be an Open House Monday Aug. 1 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; for further questions call Kara at 773-3646, ext. 452. Last school year the program was full so register early. Financial aid is on a first come basis. Voucher funding is accepted.

Water Therapy/Fitness Classes — These classes are great for people of all fitness and mobility levels. Movement in the water is very beneficial for people struggling to heal or deal with chronic pain. The lack of movement leads to a steady decline in physical, emotional and mental health. The Y offers 32 classes at 13 different time slots per week. See Page 9 of “Brochure” at ymcaingreenfield.org. Girls Basketball & Indoor Flag Football Camps, ages 6 to 14 — Each week of the summer the Y offers a sports camp in air conditioned comfort for boys and girls ages 6 to 14. Aug. 1 to 5 offers choices of Girls Basketball or Gaga/Dodgeball, Aug. 8 to 12 will be wiffleball/kickball and Aug. 15 to 19 indoor flag football. The camps have three options; morning., afternoon and full day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) with early and late care options for working parents. Parkour & Super Hero Camps — The Y offers two unique camps for boy and girls in its air conditioned gymnastics center. Parkour is fun and challenging for 8- to 14-year0olds and involves running, jumping, climbing and bouncing on equipment. Parkour runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 1 to 5. Super Hero Camps help train all campers ages 4 to 7 to do amazing feats that super heroes do; this camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 8 to 12.
