Joan Livingston, the Editor-in-Chief of the Recorder, wrote a My Turn praising her staff for keeping the newspaper running while she was out sick. She also made a comment about the paper still being fair and objective in its reporting. A reader took exception to this because of all of the anti-Trump stuff and cartoons which are usually negative.

Well, in defense of Joan and her people, many of the national news pieces are contracted and are written by the AP or other news agencies and most probably are printed as written. The cartoons are also contracted from outside and can be dismissed because they are on the “opinion” page (as should everything on the opinion page). Very little national news comes from local staff.

While I am a Trump supporter of sorts (I voted for him and will probably do so again), I read the critical articles and evaluate. He has faults and plenty of them but no good challenger has come up in my eyes. The Democrats are just trying to position themselves with little to offer in substance. Trump says what he feels and this can be politically dangerous.

I agree that most of the media is anti-Trump and the Recorder publishes this, it should not be construed that the paper is biased.
