Warwick library screening ‘Planet of the Apes’

WARWICK — The Warwick Free Public Library will be screening the 1968 classic “Planet of the Apes” at 7 p.m. on Friday.

WARWICK — Local author David Brule will visit the Warwick Free Public Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Brule, who lives on the Millers River in his ancestral home, has written three books for his “West Along the River” series — a collection of essays, short stories and tales about the natural world, village characters and the local Native American presence. A fourth book, “Looking For Judah,” describes his adventures in genealogy and remembrance while researching an enigmatic grandfather and the deeply hidden stories of his mixed-race family in denial.

Brule will share a sampling of these stories and more on Tuesday. Light refreshments will be served.

Rep. Mark to talk census at Senior Center

NORTHFIELD — The “This is Your Town” series at the Senior Center will continue on Friday, Feb. 28, with a discussion about the upcoming U.S. census with Rep. Paul Mark, D-Peru. Call 413-498-2186 to register.

Presidential primary early voting planned

Early voting for the March 3 presidential primary will be held next week.

■In Bernardston, Town Hall will be open for voting Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.; and Thursday, Feb. 27, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

■In Northfield, early voting at Town Hall will be held Monday, Feb. 24, Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

■In Leyden, early voting will be held Monday, Feb. 24 through Friday, Feb. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day at Town Hall.

Council on Aging offering exercise classes

WARWICK — The Council on Aging is holding Tuesday exercise classes at Town Hall, beginning at 9:45 a.m. They are followed by chair yoga/tai chi classes with Marcia Gobeil starting at 11 a.m.

The classes are funded by LifePath at no cost to those attending, however donations are accepted.
