COLRAIN — Green River Road, near Eunice Williams Drive, was closed off after what first responders say a swimmer had a medical emergency.
Colrain Fire and EMS, along with Greenfield Fire and Police and a Turners Falls boat responded to the incident around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Around 6:15 p.m., the boat team was staging to rescue the swimmer, who was not identified, from the water.
The water around the Eunice Williams covered bridge is a popular swimming area.
