SUNDERLAND — The town will hold its 2017 Caucus to nominate people for open governmental and school district positions.
The caucus is scheduled for March 6 starting at 6:30 p.m., in the town office building, and is open to registered Sunderland voters.
According to an announcement on the town’s website, “Wendy Houle, Town Clerk, will call the caucus to order until a chairman is chosen. The purpose of the caucus is to nominate for … town elective officers.”
Open positions include one opening on the Selectboard and another on the Board of Health, each for three years. There’s also one, five-year position open on the Planning Board.
Nominations will also be accepted for moderator, a year-long position, and a Riverside Cemetery trustee and an assessor, both one-year terms.
Finally, there are three library trustee seats open, each three-year terms.
Within the Union 38 School District, there are two seats open on the Sunderland Elementary School Committee, and one opening on the Frontier Regional School Committee.
