SUNDERLAND — Local registered Democrats will caucus this month in preparation for the 2017 Mass. Democratic State Convention.
Sunderland Democratic Chair Susan Triolo said in a statement that the caucus will be held at the Sunderland Public Library Monday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. to elect three delegates and the same number of alternative delegates for the state convention, scheduled June 3 in Lowell.
“The Sunderland Town Democratic Committee welcomes all new participants who are interested in getting involved in the work of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. Delegates to the convention will vote on the issues to be included in the party platform, and we want to make sure that every Democrat has a voice in this process. We want to continue to advance a progressive agenda for our state,” Triolo said.
Following the caucus, the Sunderland Democrats will hold a meeting at 7 p.m.
The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Sunderland. Any person who is not 18 years of age at the time of the caucus, but will be 18 by the 2018 Primary — Sept. 11, 2018 — may register in advance to vote at the office of the Sunderland Town Clerk. In addition, youth, minority populations, people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be add-on delegates, either at the caucus or online at http://www.massdems.org
In her statement, Triolo noted that “the caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Sunderland.”
“In addition, youth, minority populations, people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be add-on delegates, either at the caucus or online at http://www.massdems.org,” the statement adds.
