GREENFIELD — Robbins Memorial Congregational Church, located at 55 Munson St., meets for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. Currently, worship is led by lay leaders.

First Parish starts summer hiatus

July 18: The Singing Lesters in concert

GREENFIELD — Enjoy The Singing Lesters in concert, Monday night, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Living Waters Assembly of God, 450 Davis St., Greenfield. The Lesters are nationally known and into their fourth generation of family gospel concert music all across the country. The concert is free for all who attend.

July 21: Afghan family to visit Ashfield

ASHFIELD — St. John’s Episcopal and the First Congregational Church (UCC) of Ashfield will host a picnic on Thursday, July 21, for the displaced Afghan family being sponsored by Ashfield resident, Dr. Carter J. Carter. The potluck picnic will begin at 5 p.m. and will take place on Ashfield’s town common and under the tent at St. John’s. Rain or shine. Dr. Carter said, “The only food restriction is that the Ahmadis don’t eat pork. Otherwise, no restrictions.” The Rev. David Jones, minister at First Congregational, said, “We will have soccer balls and goals, s’mores, and other toys for children who want to meet and play with the three Ahmadi children. This will be like an old-fashioned summer church picnic.” Annie Cheatham added, “We are trying to reduce our trash and recyclables, so we’d like for everyone to bring their own plate and flatware. Aug. 11: The bells will toll

GREENFIELD — On Thursday, Aug. 11, and every 11th day of every month, All Souls UU Church will ring the steeple bell at 11 a.m. in concern for the environment. For 11 minutes we chime in to consider our part in changing direction from environmental disaster.

The Franklin County Deanery will hold a Marian Celebration in honor of the Feast of the Assumption, Sunday, Aug. 14, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal St., Greenfield. The Deanery Choir will be providing music led by Kathleen Galluzzo
