LEYDEN — More than 20 vendors are expected at Town Hall and the neighboring United Methodist Church for the Winter Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday, Dec. 11.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizer Nannette Rolstad said many of the vendors, who come from across Franklin County, are returning from October’s “Hills Are Alive” fair. Saturday’s event will also feature a bake sale, raffle and lunch prepared by the church. All vendor fees and raffle proceeds will benefit the church.
At “Hills Are Alive,” Emily Herron-Clark, an organizer for both fairs, said she’d hoped for a stronger vendor turnout. Proceeds from vendor fees and raffle tickets had amounted to $600, which also benefited the church. This time around, more vendors also means more raffle possibilities. Each vendor will donate something from their table worth around $10 to the raffle for attendees to enter a drawing to win.
Aside from the opportunity to enjoy shopping for crafts and gifts to kick off the holiday season, both organizers said people should come out to Leyden’s craft fairs simply to enjoy the town’s atmosphere.
“A lot of people don’t know where Leyden is and are surprised at how beautiful Leyden is,” Herron-Clark said at “Hills are Alive.”
“It’s always a good time to come to Leyden any time of year for the view,” Rolstad said. “Good company, good time.”
