CHARLEMONT — Two people were seriously injured in an accident involving a camper on West Hawley Road Saturday morning.
One of the victims was airlifted to the hospital from Hawlemont Regional School by medical helicopter at 12:05 p.m. The other was transported by ambulance.
According to Charlemont Fire Lt. Charles Hamel, two people were jogging on the side of the road at around 10:45 a.m when a camper collided with them.
“That’s all I know,” he said. “It’s still under investigation.”
The Charlemont Police Department and Charlemont Ambulance responded, along with Colrain Ambulance.
Both the Charlemont Police Department and Ambulance Service Director Dana Johnson were unable to be reached for comment Saturday afternoon.
