Before we defund or abolish the police, consider this:
Based on FBI figures in 2018, there were 1.2 million violent crimes in the U.S. and 7.2 million property crimes. The number of police officers killed in the line of duty were 150 with an average age of 40 years old.
If we could curb our bad behavior, we wouldn’t need these officers. I don’t think this is about to happen.
How soon do we forget our men in blue heroes on 911. Seventy-one died trying to help strangers. Many many more are struggling with the after effects.
Let’s stop the attitude toward the police for the actions of a few. Let’s support the men in blue who are there for us when we need to make the call.
