NORTHFIELD — Five Point Farm will play host to Northfield Plow Day today, featuring more than 50 antique tractors and six horse teams.

Owner Bill Llewelyn said the event will begin around 8:30 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. or so. It is free and open to the public, and food will be available, including hamburgers and hot dogs.

He said this is the fourth year his farm has hosted the event, put on by International Harvester Collectors Club, New England Chapter 18.

“People from all over bring their older tractors, none of the modern stuff,” he said. “They just like to get together and they’ll plow and talk, and there’s about a 110-acre field here and they’ll plow that probably in about five hours.”

The tractors, he said, range from 1930s- to 1970s-era, and participants come from all over New England and New York.

“You can talk to a lot of people, they all have their stories, and it’s just kind of a hobby that people do,” Llewelyn said.

Five Point Farm is located at 75 Upper Farms Road, Northfield.
