ORANGE — The town’s recycling center/transfer station will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
It will be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
NEW SALEM — The Friends of the New Salem Public Library plan to host their annual Used Book Sale & Raffle on Old Home Day in New Salem on July 15.
There will be a selection of adult and children’s books along with CDs and DVDs at reasonable prices, thanks to the generous donations of library patrons. Some books are like new.
In addition, the Friends will be selling raffle tickets for a Kindle Fire basket that includes an e-reader that’s also a tablet, a case for the Kindle Fire and a $25 Amazon gift card. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. They can be purchased now from any Friends board member or from the library staff. The raffle basket is on display in the library.
