The Ashfield Lions Club and the Ashfield Firefighters Association wish to thank the Town of Ashfield for its support in making the recent vision screening and blood drive a success. We especially thank the 21 people who had their vision screened and the 19 who gave blood.
We are also grateful to the many individuals and organizations who made this community health event possible. Cindy Carney (Ashfield Lions Club) and Kyle Walker (Ashfield Fire Lieutenant) were the principal organizers. Barbara Miner and Sharyn Wentworth operated the vision screener. Nolan’s Neighbors and Ashfield Hardware provided refreshments and treats.
Local artisans Irene Branson, Helene Uprichard, Honey Boyton and Greg Ruth offered gifts of their work which we used to draw prizes for blood donors. The winners include Jane Willis, Bill Scaife, David Knowles, Carole Groman, Melissa MacDonald and Elliott Marsh. Thanks also to Martha Cohen, town librarian, for her help with prizes.
