MONTAGUE CENTER — A motorcyclist crashed into rusty farm equipment in front of Hunting Hills Farm on Wednesday night on Route 63.

When first responders arrived the rider was still conscious and had suffered minor injuries.

“It’s a miracle. There’s no doubt,” said Sgt. Richard Suchanek.

The rider was thrown about 15 feet from his motorcycle and landed on his back.

The rider’s red and black Harley Davidson suffered minor damage, including some road rash on the gas tank. The vehicle was towed.

MedCare transported the rider to the hospital for further evaluation.

Police said the rider had veered off the road while coming around a curve on Federal Street. He drifted to the right, off the road and crashed near a pile of chopped wood.

Hunting Hills Farm’s sign had been knocked over by the accident.

A passerby saw the aftermath of the accident and called the Montague Police Department at around 4:34 p.m., according to Suchanek.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene.
