Greenfield Sept. 15

2:56 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Stone Ridge Lane where a caller says he was walking near Poet’s Seat Tower and noticed three vehicles that have been in the wooded area for months; and at least one has Vermont plates; officer to check.

3:33 p.m. — Hazard reported on Wells Street near the Mill House Apartments where the caller says a low hanging tree branch is over the roadway, and the FRTA bus almost struck it; cone was placed, and the DPW advised.

3:44 p.m. — Fraud reported from Duren Drive where the caller says she was contacted by a company, that reportedly is on Chapman Street in town, and advised that she had won a car and other prizes; the caller stated these people were supposed to come to her house today to deliver these prizes, but haven’t shown up yet; she also provided personal information to this company, but couldn’t say what exactly. The reporting person explained she’s been in contact with a male regarding the prizes, and the reporting person then stated she has taken out money orders of $25 three or four times, and sent it to them, on their request; another time she advised she withdrew $500, and a male came to her residence to pick it up; she was unable to give a limited description, and the officer will be doing a follow up, as this remains under investigation. Amount of money the female sent to numerous addresses found to be more substantial than initially reported.

4:19 p.m. — Officers on Wisdom Way to serve a warrant, arrested was Jesse Michael Odle, 20, listed as homeless, of Greenfield, on two warrants.
