The Greenfield Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners is made up of five members, listed under the GHA’s website. They have public meetings via Zoom for  the public, tenants, and interested community groups, etc. The board’s next meeting is March 29 at 4:30 p.m. It is listed in the city of Greenfield calendar under Greenfield Housing Authority but one can also call the mayor or town clerk for the Zoom link.  There is opportunity for tenants and interested parties to partake and advocate for future affordable housing. Each town should have at least 20% affordable housing. There is an extreme and vital need for affordable housing; for disabled people, seniors and many, many low-income working families, etc. The future of this board of commissioners shall  expand to include diversity, disabled, community leaders, college students, church leaders, advocates, and others who have firsthand knowledge and a vested interest in this issue now and in the future, like the diverse Amherst.Housing Authority commission. It is also important to have flyers of these meetings and postings in the Greenfield Housing Auhtority office. Furthermore, as Greenfield meetings are now in person, the housing authority’s board of commissioners should schedule their meetings at the Greenfield Senior Center for any interested party to attend, especially for full inclusion of the disabled or those without computers.
